Scarf Wrapped Necklace

The scarf necklace has, until now, arrived one of two ways: hand-beaded and precious, or printed and promotional. This is the premium evolution of the category — and it sits where apparel, accessories and fine jewelry meet.

Equal parts necklace and accessory — a silky patterned scarf woven through gold-plated links, tied at the throat, and weighted with a single baroque freshwater pearl. The twill is the argument. Each length is cut from densely printed cloth in the manner of the great European scarf houses — painterly, edge to edge, no filler in the pattern. Because every necklace is cut from a different passage of that print, no two carry the same image. Where the scissors fall decides the piece. The pearl is the other half. Freshwater baroque, grown irregular and chosen large: the one element that cannot be repeated, matched, or manufactured to order. It is where the value sits.
